I was recently in an encounter with a person who had been a refugee from Somalia. That person was going off on how much they love Donald Trump. Their big reason for loving him was because he would build a wall on the Mexican border to keep immigrants out.

Immigrants fleeing hellscapes like they did.

Immigrants wanting to start a new life in the US like they did.

A Somali immigrant, who fled certain death in their homeland, ranting about how we should prevent others from doing the same.

I nearly wept blood at how American they’d become.

That Somali “kid” is like 54 years old, so really, good shot but minus 100 for accuracy. 

As to feelings, I’m not sure how you measure them. I will just go with your metric and shoot from the hip and assume you don’t bother with reality because it’s hard. So, like, minus potato and cake, since that is roughly the level you seem to be at.

I guess the phrase “all that glitters is not gold” holds up pretty well when describing you in an incident I know you regret.

I don’t care what people say to defend you. I don’t care for “she helped these people” or “charity” or any of that crap.

The minute you shit on a group of people, especially because of their religion, has you at being nothing. There are many names and tags I could give you but I just prefer “nothing.” All those “good” things you may have done which was most likely for your career (let’s be honest) is stripped away once you try to spread negativity like that.

There are people out there targeting Muslim people or people they think they “look muslim” and these kind of ideologies you throw out there do so much more harm than good. Why? What does your hateful message have to do with anything? How does it help? You are too busy enjoying the privileges given to you for your….“talent” and looks.

I’m sure you might have a story of coming from up nothing or hardship, or something else I could give a damn about but if so wouldn’t it run through your mind before talking shit about a group of people that go through HARDSHIP or RACISM because of the way they look? Or their traditions?

I personally know Muslim people and my lady is Muslim. They are very friendly and welcoming people when you get to know them. Very devoted to their religion and put a lot of emphasis on education.

Now just because you said these ignorant comments does not mean I am going to look at Puerto Ricans in any other way. That would be…ignorant! Do you see where I am going with this? Just because one person or even a few bad apples exist, that doesn’t mean the tree can’t produce a majority of good ones.

I guess what it comes down to is a person in a position of getting their voice heard chose to project negativity that they most likely got their cliff notes from Fox News and felt they needed to have people thinking “ yeah! she has a point.” No! You don’t! The repercussions happening to you right now are well deserved.
